OCC Uruguay
Uruguay
The Organization for the Conservation of Cetaceans (OCC) in Uruguay works for the conservation of the marine ecosystem as well as the environment of the coastal communities, thus integrating ecological, socio-cultural and economic perspectives. They focus on marine conservation environmental education and awareness, responsible marine tourism, sustainable fishing and the creation of offshore MPAs.
OMCAR Palk Bay Centre

The Omcar Foundation was created in 2007 for the conservation of dugongs, seagrasses, and mangroves through scientific and traditional knowledge. Under the foundation’s auspices, the OMCAR Palk Bay Centre provides services to the local fishing communities in coastal environmental education and awareness, a dugong and marine mammal stranding response, seagrass and mangrove restoration projects, sustainable squid fishery, tree planting, amongst others. Participatory conservation and sustainable livelihoods are key to their mission.

ORCA Peru operates multiple bases along the Peruvian coast and is focused on balanced marine conservations efforts. They conduct research and rescue of sea-lions, dolphins, marine otters, whales, sea turtles and penguins, promoting sustainable development and the conservation of a healthy marine ecosystem, preventing and monitoring the cumulative effects of human impact through advanced research, animal welfare strategies, and innovative education campaigns promoting marine mammals as sentinels of the ocean, from the Eastern South Pacific to the world.

Two time recipient of the Project Aware Environmental Achievement Award, Ocean Frontiers has a history of conservation and environmental projects, including the installation of Grand Cayman's biggest coral nursery where Staghorn and Elkhorn fragments are grown and out-planted to reefs which have coral loss or damage. Other projects include culling the invasive Lionfish, coral bleaching monitoring, coral spawning data collection, shark conservation and tagging, amongst others.

ORCA describes itself as a technology-based marine conservation association. Their strategy is to collect accurate and scientifically defensible data on water quality and its impact on marine ecosystems, to provide the data to the public and decision makers in an easily accessible and understandable format, and to engage communities in marine conservation action, with positive reinforcement for their efforts through feedback involving easily understandable scientific data. Focus of research is on the Indian River Lagoon.

Ocean Sanctuaries mission is to inspire people to take action around ocean conservation and habitat preservation.

Oceana is a Washington D.C based ocean conservation and advocacy organisation committed to save and restore oceans through targeted policy campaigns. Founded in 2001, Oceana is the largest international advocacy organization exclusively working for the conservation of ocean. The organisation carries out targeted campaigns to prevent the collapse of fish populations, marine mammals and other damages to sea life resulted from industrial fishing and pollution. As part of its campaigns, Oceana is involved in efforts to end major sources of ocean pollution such as oil, mercury, aquaculture and shipping emissions. In addition, the organisation also campaigns for the protection of vulnerable places in the oceans, including the Arctic, the Aleutian Islands, the Mediterranean and Chile's Juan Fernandez Islands, among others. With a local presence in many countries around the world, it is truly global in its reach.
